2-States: story of my Marriage: A Chetan Bhagat Book

Chetan Bhagat is one of the most popular writers of our time and readers would have noted a creative evolution in his writing style. If five-point someone was about the college life, night at the call centre was about young ones starting on professional life. The next story from him is about two young adults, from completely different geographies of the country meeting in college; falling in love and getting into holy matrimony. Beautifully narrated in Chetan’s whimsical style, the first person narration captures the mood of a young heart torn apart by ‘if’ and ‘but’s’ precipitated by cultural differences of north and south India.
Krish & Ananya, meet at IIM Ahmedabad, where they become friends, and eventually fall in love. They pass-out of college and land up in decent jobs and start thinking seriously about marriage. However, there is only one problem – Krish happens to be Punjabi and Ananya is Tamilian. In India, where parents are always keening on getting their children married in the same community. Such a scenario presents itself- stiff opposition from the respective parents in the household. The entire narrative revolves around the couple’s struggle on getting their parents to agree and finally, how they both make it happen.
The story is getting adapted into a movie, starring Shahrukh Khan to be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. This novel and other books from the same author are available at the e shopping website, homeshop18.com. Buy book online for Rs.95 and avail Free Shipping on the product.
