Olay Beauty Products

Olay was borne out of a husband’s wish to make her wife look beautiful. In 1950s, chemist Graham Wulff’s wife grew increasingly frustrated with the available beauty creams. All of them used to come in shoe polish tins and had a waxy consistency to make the skin look greasy. The makers it seemed did not really understand the feminine sensibilities and cream was all brawn and no heart. Graham garnered his chemistry skills together to put in place a product to moisturise the skin and make her look beautiful all day long. This preparation came to be known as Oil of Olay, with its feminine pink shade and distinct fragrance. In later years the company was bought over by Richardson-Vicks company, known world over for the over the counter medications for common cold and cough medicines. The Richardson-Vicks group in turn was bought over by Proctor & Gamble in 1985. In 2000, Proctor & Gamble decided to go only with the brand name “Olay” and do away with the prefix “Oil of...”.
From here on the brand has evolved and diversified into various other beauty product categories. Anti-ageing and fairness creams have also become part of the Olay beauty catalogue. The Olay brand is available on the online shopping company, homeshop18.com. Buy the beauty product from the e-shopping website, homeshop18.com as hamper with freebies.
