Sidney Sheldon’s | Best Five


Sidney Sheldon is an Academy award winning American writer, whose work spanned a period of 20 years. Some of his most noted works include “I Dream of Jeanie” – TV Series and some best selling novels in popular English literature. We have picked up five of his best loved work and have put together this list. (There is bound be subjective bias associated with this list.)    
Naked Face (1970) - A psychoanalyst on the run from a potential killer, first, one of his patient and then his secretary gets murdered. To track down the real killer, Judd Stevens arranges for a private investigator. But before he does that, he risks his life and tries psychoanalysing possible suspects and also falls in love with a mysterious patient Annie DeMarco.  
Master of Game (1982) – The story told in flashback traces the life of Kate Blackwell. The character of Kate Blackwell is depicted as a beautiful woman, who charms her way into the hearts of a male counterparts; her only ambition is to be the top player in the entrepreneurial world. Other characters in the novel include her father, son and grand-daughters and how she is able to influence them – through her shrewdness.
Doomsday Conspiracy (1991) – The story follows the life of Robert Bellamy hired by NSA to locate passengers on a bus, who had witnessed landing of a weather balloon laden with secret equipment. As soon as he locates them, mysteriously, one by one is murdered and is made to look like an accident. As the novel progresses, Robert finds answers to some disturbing personal questions and as usual the novel ends with an incredible bang.
Nothing Lasts Forever (1994) – The novel follows the life of three female doctors and how their life are intertwined and connected with each other. But out of nowhere, there is chaos and their life is turned upside down. The novel follows a twisty plot and surprise ending.
Best Laid Plans (1997) – The novel follows the life of Oliver Russell, fated to rise to the post of President; with only problem being his betrayed fiancée (Leslie) who is hell-bent on destroying Oliver through her media empire. A series of mysterious murders take place, after Oliver becomes President (gives Leslie excuse to malign Oliver) and how they get solved forms the basic premise of the novel.
